2004 / 2005 Pee Wee Super League
Champions
Salmon Arm Minor Hockey's Pee Wee Snipers, sponsored by Askew's,
has racked up a very impressive season. First they won
their regular season with a record of 18-2-0. Then they
followed that up by opening their playoff run with an equally
impressive start by defeating rivals Vernon Vikings 7-0.
The second round of the playoffs pitted the Snipers against
another Salmon Arm team, the Canadians. This proved to be
the closest game of the playoffs for the Snipers, but they were
able to down the Canadians in a close 6-5 shoot out. In
the semi-final game, the Snipers were up against the Vernon 4
team, and we found out how the Snipers earned their name with a
dominating 16-4 win over Vernon. The playoff final game
again saw the Snipers against the Salmon Arm Canadians.
Obviously two teams to be reckoned with. In the end, the
Snipers pulled off an exciting 6-3 victory over the Canadians to
take the Okanagan - North Pee Wee Super League Championship.
To top off this great victory, the Snipers were also presented
with the trophy for the Most Sportsmanlike Team of the playoffs!
